James Lloyd Thomas MA, FRCO, FTCL, LRAM, PGCE

James Lloyd Thomas

James studied at Trinity College of Music, and at London and Kingston Universities. His organ teachers have included Christopher Stokes, David Sanger and Margaret Phillips; his academic research featured the German Romantics Ritter and Töpfer. He has extensive recital experience in both the UK and overseas; yet his career has focused mainly on teaching, church music and choral direction. He is Assistant Course Director at Oundle for Organists on whose courses he has taught for 15 years. He has held major church appointments in Grantham, Shrewsbury and London and is currently Director of Music at Christ Church, Eastbourne. He is also Organist to the University of Sussex.  James's cheerful and encouraging manner combines with his direct and energetic approach to ensure lively, well-informed teaching.

James teaches throughout the south coast from Chichester to Hastings, is willing to travel to Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas, and also teaches in London. (availability: please enquire)
